National Honor Society Guidelines
In order for members of the National Honor Society Heights High School Chapter to remain members, the following guidelines must be followed.
(If member is referred to probation or ‘not in good standing with NHS,’ repeated violation of ANY guideline will result in immediate dismissal. If you meet criteria for dismissal, you have the opportunity to explain yourself and your dismissal will be decided by a committee, as per the National Honor Society guidelines.)
In order for members of the National Honor Society Heights High School Chapter to remain members, the following guidelines must be followed.
- Member must maintain ‘Honor Roll’ (All A’s and 2 B’s). Absolutely no C’s in any courses. Failure to maintain scholarship will result in probation during the next six-week cycle. If a C is made in any class in the subsequent six weeks, you will be dismissed.
- Member must have 20 hours of community service per semester. All hours will be verified; forging of hours will result in immediate dismissal from National Honor Society.Member must attend all meetings (at least one of the two held in a day). 15-minute tardies will be docked as an absence.
- Disciplinary issues such as suspension or SRC will result in immediate dismissal from the program. Disciplinary referrals or complaints from teachers will result in probation. Receiving a “P” results in probation while receiving a “U” will result in dismissal.
